Public Health Initiative

As Indonesia is midway through epidemiological transition, its health system must strain under simultaneous burdens of infectious and degenerative illnesses. Health inequity is a deep-seeded problem as locational disparities exist in institutional capacity, access to services and prevalence of disease. In cooperation with regional public health initiatives, our partner collaborates the synergies of private sector companies, local government and non-government organisations to improve health in a strategic and sustainable way.

Initially the project will be piloted in 6 selected villages but coverage will expand to neighbouring communities in the second and third year of implementation. There are four primary focuses of this program:

  1. To decrease the overall prevalence of malaria by improving access to early detection and treatment of malaria.
  2. To improve accessibility to village health posts for women and children
  3. To promote community knowledge and awareness about maternal and child health, nutrition, hygiene and communicable diseases.
  4. To strengthen the delivery of services at local level by upskilling workers
