Unimproved water sources in Myanmar compromise hygiene, sanitation and drinking water availability. Unfiltered rivers and swamps are contaminated by human and animal waste, chemical pollutants and heavy metals which can quite often be fixed by simple low-technology solutions.
To prevent such risks, a team of water specialists travel to the country’s rural villages to replace old filtration units with new and improved versions, lasting 20+ years.

The process involves:

  1. Design filter prototype
  2. Identify old units and deploy new unit
  3. Train locals in maintenance responsibilities
  4. Conduct follow-up water testing

Key Areas of Expenditure:

  • Equipment purchases
  • Construction of filtration unit
  • Transport
  • Training costs
