Health Uplift

China’s fast changing country context is characterised by rapid industrialisation, rural-urban migration, wealth disparities, epidemiological transition and an ageing population. With a highly diverse population of 1.4 billion people scattered over a vast landscape of hard-to-reach mountains and plains, China faces a variety of health and development challenges. For society’s poor, access to affordable healthcare remains difficult as essential medicines are often unattainable and medical standards are not geographically consistent.

To subdue widening disparities in wealth and health, we are training local staff and facilitating public awareness programs amongst low income groups in rural villages. Specific training in Cerebral Palsy and HIV/AIDs management is provided for nurses, carers and families by resident and visiting professionals.
