In a country devastated by years of guerilla militia and political upheaval, the rights and opportunities of children with disabilities have fallen by the wayside on governmental agendas. This school project assists hearing impaired children gain skills necessary for productive lives. Both hearing and deaf teachers are employed to not only teach from the regular curriculum, but also develop sign-language aptitudes and pioneer the way for sustainable agricultural practices within the community. Public events are held each quarter to promote deaf awareness in order to reduce discrimination and foster support networks. The school maintains high participation in communal activities through sport and cultural events.
