Community development

Community development raises collective living standards by understanding local needs and building up local capacities. It is based on a philosophy of ‘helping communities to help themselves’ so as to create an entrance point into sustainable livelihoods.

In order to catalyse the development process, improved delivery of services is often required. This can take the form of:

  • Skills’ training programs
  • Professional development courses
  • Microfinance opportunities
  • Issue-awareness community workshops
  • Health initiatives
  • Infrastructure projects
